School Compound

The German School Nairobi is located between Limuru and Red Hill Road in the residential area of Gigiri in the north-western part of Nairobi on extensive, sprawling grounds.

Apart from separate buildings for our primary school and lower and upper secondary school, the compound accommodates the kindergarten, a cafeteria, our school library, the office of our school nurse, a spacious multi-purpose hall, a boarding house as well as various sports facilities (a 25-metre swimming pool, basketball and (beach-) volleyball court, athletics track, soccer field and two tennis courts).

The German School Nairobi offers a wide range of extracurricular activities, which are included in the school fees, most of them are offered at no extra cost.

In addition, we offer a range of extracurricular activities for adults - parents, staff members and other interested groups.

Our sports facilities can be used by members and non-members of the German School Society. Kindly find here the fee structure for using our sports facilities.

The school grounds feature well-maintained garden areas, mature trees, rest and recreational corners and wide playgrounds fitted with attractive and modern toys, swings, slides, climbing nets etc.

The German School is located opposite the popular shopping centre "Village Market". The residential areas of Runda, Muthaiga, New Muthaiga, Rosslyn and Nyari are in close proximity to the school, as are the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and many other UN-agencies as well as the offices of the Embassy of the United States of America.
