🌍 Recap: Holocaust Memorial Event at DSN 🕊️

On January 16th, we had the honor of welcoming special guests to our school: Together with the Deputy Ambassador of Israel, Ariel Arviv, the Deputy Ambassador of Germany, Alexander Fierley, and the Director of the Holocaust Memorial Center in Johannesburg, Tali Nates, our upper-grade students reflected on the significance of Holocaust remembrance.

The occasion was the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz extermination camp on January 27, 1945. The speakers unanimously emphasized Germany’s and the world’s ongoing responsibility to stand firmly against anti-Semitism and discrimination.

The subsequent discussion bridged historical lessons with current events in the Middle East—topics that not only inspired deep reflection but also provided space for open and respectful questions.

We are proud of our school community for demonstrating the importance of fostering dialogue about humanity, tolerance, and peace.
