The Potsdam swimming team led by coach Jörg Hoffmann (1991 world champion, 1992 Olympic bronze medalist, four-time European champion) will be guests at our school from February 9-24 to prepare for the upcoming Olympic qualification. This is the third time that the Potsdam team has come to the DSN for altitude training. This year Chiara Klein is the only female swimmer, among the male six swimmers Christian Diener is currently in excellent form. In December, he not only won the silver medal in the 50m backstroke at the short course world championships in Abu Dhabi, but also took bronze in the 200m with a new German record time. If you want to compare yourself with him, you are welcome to try to swim eight backstroke lanes in our pool in 1:48.97 minutes. To ensure that “our” Potsdam swimmers qualify for the Olympics, pool times for families and individual swimmers will be limited during the two weeks in February.
