Alumni engagement
Our alumni are an important part of the German School Nairobi community. Their experiences, stories, and successes inspire our students and enrich school life far beyond the classroom.
Through guest lectures, mentoring programs, workshops, and networking events, our former students give back in meaningful ways and help the next generation find their own path.
To facilitate networking among our alumni, we run an interactive alumni Facebook group. Our global network, which currently consists of over 600 former DSN students, teachers, and parents, thus has a professional connection to our school.

A Trip Down Memory Lane
In August 2026, former student Thomas Hoffmeister returned to DSN after almost 25 years, accompanied by his wife and two daughters.
Thomas attended the German School Nairobi from Kindergarten until completing his Abitur in 2002. During a tour of the school, he shared many stories from his school days and recalled what was possibly the most controversial Abitur monument in DSN history.
A special highlight was seeing our school secretary Night, whom he remembers fondly, and his former art teacher Manja Mossmann.
It was lovely to hear his stories and show his family the school that played such an important part in his childhood. Thank you for visiting, Thomas!
