Earlier this term, DSN took part in the Happy Dance Competition, a ballet event aimed at raising funds for cancer awareness. Participants included Kiara Kivumbi, Angel Bauenfiled, Leonie Strack, Mathilda Schliesser, and Jolina Bahta. The event generated great excitement as the girls performed in front of a large audience, enjoying their first stage performance and interacting with dancers from other studios.
Late last month, 29-June-2024, the girls did an external Ballet exam which was conducted by an external examiner from Pretoria, South Africa. The girls; Kiara, Mathilda, Leonie, and Angel had their first External Ballet Examination and attained gold and silver recognitions. The purpose of the exam is to help achieve international status, to develop self-confidence and artistry. Jolina, Rosalie, Alicia, and Leylani also attended Ballet sessions that consisted of ballet, creative movement, and demi-character choreography.
