Since 1969!

For over 50 years we have been providing children and young people in Nairobi with an excellent German school education.

Willkommen - Welcome - Karibu sana!

Dear visitors to our homepage, those interested in the school, dear students and parents,

When I came to the German School in Nairobi in 2017, it immediately reminded me of a rural community. On the one hand, this was due to the spacious, green area, which looks like a retreat in the pulsating city. On the other hand, the feeling arose from the cooperation between the people at the school. They know each other, they also greet strangers, they look out for one another, and they feel like a community.

Here at the German School, the big things are reflected in the small things, 32 nations meet, children who have lived in different parts of the world, children who grew up here in Kenya and are learning the German language.

Despite all the tranquility, we are cosmopolitan and modern, continuously working to meet the needs of our students and to prepare them for tomorrow in the big world.

Bilingual Kindergarten

The international kindergarten of the German School is a bilingual full-day kindergarten and accepts children between 18 months and six years in its play and kindergarten groups.

Primary School

With us, every child has the right to individual support. Everyone can experience success with us and feel the solidarity of the school community. We attach great importance to encouraging our students - only encouraged children become responsible adults.

Secondary School

The German School Nairobi is, in the best sense of the word, a community school where girls and boys can acquire their secondary school diploma or the German International Abitur.

School Grounds

In addition to the school buildings, the German School also has a cafeteria, a multi-purpose hall, a school library, an infirmary and extensive sports facilities.

We look forward to welcoming your child(ren) to the German School Nairobi! We would be happy to show you our school premises, give you all the information you need personally and, of course, also look after you remotely.

Always stay up to date and find out immediately what's new at the German School Nairobi.

Nairobi, 2 October 2020 Perhaps, possibly, maybe, soon, shortly, probably, anytime soon, presumably, apparently, all things considered, likely… The series could be continued. Happy Summer Holidays!
July 13, 2021

Dear school community, Last night, in search of inspiration for this text, I read poems, familiar and unfamiliar, about saying goodbye, giving thanks, summer. The texts about saying goodbye are, how could it be otherwise, often sad, those about giving thanks mostly cheesy and those about summer very European. But it is always a balancing …
