Since 1969!

For over 50 years we have been providing children and young people in Nairobi with an excellent German school education.

Willkommen - Welcome - Karibu sana!

Dear visitors to our homepage, those interested in the school, dear students and parents,

When I came to the German School in Nairobi in 2017, it immediately reminded me of a rural community. On the one hand, this was due to the spacious, green area, which looks like a retreat in the pulsating city. On the other hand, the feeling arose from the cooperation between the people at the school. They know each other, they also greet strangers, they look out for one another, and they feel like a community.

Here at the German School, the big things are reflected in the small things, 32 nations meet, children who have lived in different parts of the world, children who grew up here in Kenya and are learning the German language.

Despite all the tranquility, we are cosmopolitan and modern, continuously working to meet the needs of our students and to prepare them for tomorrow in the big world.

Primary School

With us, every child has the right to individual support. Everyone can experience success with us and feel the solidarity of the school community. We attach great importance to encouraging our students - only encouraged children become responsible adults.

In addition to the school buildings, the German School also has a cafeteria, a multi-purpose hall, a school library, an infirmary and extensive sports facilities.

Field report: Jannik Kiehling
May 7, 2021

To begin with, it is important for me to mention that my three-month stay at the GSN did not take place entirely under normal conditions, because it is not a matter of course to travel to another region of the world during a global pandemic and to experience the culture there. Of course, this did …

April 26, 2021

“Consider it the greatest sacrilege … to lose for the sake of life the reasons for which it is worth living.” -Juvenal Because of the Corona pandemic, we are experiencing many limitations. Currently, are the reasons worth living for sufficiently considered? Or is survival more important? In other words, are we “sacrificing” at the moment? …

Study Guidance and Counselling Service
April 26, 2021

It was not to be just a series of information about professions or an online visit to university websites, but something more comprehensive that could answer the many questions about starting a new phase in life. A few weeks ago, Mr. Busch introduced us to the “career coach” Ms. Wulfekammer, with whom the class immediately …
