Dear valued readers,
Within a very short time after the appeal to the school community to support the flood victims in Mathare Valley, we have experienced overwhelming solidarity and generous donations. Our goal was to raise KES 40,000 to assist the affected children and families during this difficult time, but your support has exceeded all expectations: We have raised an incredible 233,300 KES, which is almost six times our original target!
Thanks to your generous donations, we will be able to organize important aid on the ground. Our principal, Jörg Isenbeck, has personally explored the situation, accompanied by Ms. Braack from GER. Both agree that the Mathare Social Justice Center is an excellent partner for targeted aid.
Even though the schools in Mathare Valley are still struggling with the effects of the floods and regular classes are not yet possible, it is clear that our support is making a big difference.
