Many thanks to all parents and members who participated in our virtual general meeting on May 27th 2021 via ZOOM. In advance of the minutes, which will be sent to you before the next general meeting in November, please find a summary of the most important decisions:
The budget for the next school year 2021/2022 was prepared together with school and administration management and was approved by the members. This means: no increase in school and kindergarten fees for the next school year.
Dr. Michael Lattorff was co-opted on February 24, 2021 and has now been confirmed by the members as a member of the board of the German School. Thus the following parents currently make up the voluntary board: Anna Kröger (Chair), Katharina von Maltzan (Deputy Chair; Marketing, Communications & Sports), Ilja Burchard (Secretary; Chair Buildings, Safety), Stefan Hassler (Deputy Finance Committee; Deputy Secretary, Buildings & Safety), Dr. Suranahi Kabuga (Deputy HR Committee), Frank Löffler (Chair Finance Committee) and Dr. Michael Lattorff (Resort to be announced).
Ms. Hasmita Bhanderi and Ms. Sarah Reusche were elected as additional trustees.
Motion of the Board to amend the Articles of the Society has been approved by the members: “The ambassadors of the embassies of Germany, Austria and Switzerland and their deputies are ex-officio members of the German School Society Nairobi.”
The Board Chairperson, Anna Kröger, who started her work in the board in May 2018, leaves Nairobi with her family at the end of July. We would like to thank her for her volunteer work in the last years and wish her and her family all the best.
