The U-18 boys football team – Nathan Rinnert, Noah Ah Poe, Kiama Waimiri, Sam Mwangi, Joseph Adolwa, Roni Karoki, Tom Eckoldt, Jesse Gift, Leslie Hugo, Benjamin Bernhardt, Falk Gottschalk from the German school embarked on a busy day at the Brookhous- Runda for a tournament against other international schools in Nairobi on Saturday, 27-April-2024. This tournament was significant for them, marking their first for the year and offering a chance to win a trip to Manchester sponsored by University Academy 92 for the 10 outstanding players as the tournament was sponsored by University Academy 92.
Despite finishing third in the pool stages and being knocked out of the main cup, they advanced to the plate cup semifinals against NIS. After a goalless draw, we lost in a penalty shootout. In the subsequent third-place match against Crawford, we lost again in penalties, resulting in a disappointing finish. The team however, learnt some areas of improvement.
However, amidst the team’s setbacks, Jesse Gift, class 11 student, stood out by winning the golden boot and securing a spot amongst the ten outstanding players. Looking ahead, the team eagerly anticipates the boys’ football term at KAISSO tournaments next semester as it will be boys football term.
