Welcome to GSN!

New Head of Administration for the school year 24/25!

We are pleased to announce that we have found a successor for Ms. Baumann, who will be leaving us at the end of the school year.

Ms. Heran Mesfin will already be on site for the handover on 24.6.2024. We already wish her a good start. Here is a brief introduction:

Dear School Community,

I am very pleased to introduce myself to you as the new Head of Administration of the German School Nairobi.

My name is Heran Mesfin and it fills me with great enthusiasm to take up this position and to meet you all in person soon.

Born and raised in Germany, after graduating in Business Administration from Worms University of Applied Sciences, I worked in different parts of the world, including Ethiopia where I was the Head of Administration at the German Embassy School.

This experience not only familiarized me with a wide range of tasks but also showed me that we as a community can go through difficult times such as pandemics and civil wars and emerge stronger.

In various positions at organizations such as the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, I was able to continuously develop my skills in the areas of organization, management, and strategic planning.

Now I am looking forward to contributing my experience and skills here at the German School Nairobi.

My husband, my three children and I are very much looking forward to getting to know you all, becoming part of the school community, and working together to develop our school.

Best wishes and see you soon!
Heran Mesfin
