Class Trip class 4

Dear School Community,

The journey to Aberdare Cottages & Fishing lodge was long but great fun. When we arrived, the people welcomed us. The dormitories were very, very nice! Then we were divided into three groups: Tusker, Gorilla and Splol.
Viktoria, Noemi and Philippa

We went on a hike on the first day. There was a big wooden bridge over a river. Afterwards, we threw large stones into the river. Before we hiked back, we practised for the “Creative Night”.
-Eddi H, Adriaan, Mwila

At the “Creative Night”, we told each other scary stories. Each team performed a dance. A few children also told a joke.
-Nikolaj and Amy

On Thursday, we did canyoneering, tea picking and archery in our groups. During canyoneering, we hiked in a stream with stones. Some of the stones were slippery and our shoes were soaking wet. It was great fun, even though the water was very cold.
 Leah Mona and Faith

Picking tea was a hard and fun activity, we learnt a lot. For example, how to turn leaves into delicious tea. First we had to carry the big baskets on our backs and John, a very good tea picker (professional) who grew up picking tea every day, explained to us how to do it. It was a very difficult task because we had to pick exactly two leaves and one bud.
Kibet and Eddie S.

Our archery teacher was called Lizette. We had to shoot the bow and hit colours like we were baking a cake. It was a lot of fun.
Sharlene, Natasha and Kinda

After the activities, we all wanted to go swimming in the river. There were lots of slippery stones and we slipped a lot. The water was very cold, but we splashed each other anyway. At the end, we quickly went back to the cottages to take a warm shower.
Gabriel, Jonas and Simon

We made a campfire on Thursday evening. We liked the fact that we ate marshmallows. It was very tasty. Then we threw our stick for the marshmallows into the fire and made a wish.
Finn, Stefan and Dante

On Friday morning we did an “Amacing race”. It was exhausting because we had to run a lot. It was fun and we didn’t have much time. The staff helped us very well. We ran past tea fields and beehives. For example, we had to find out how many cottages there were in the lodge and what they were called.
Pauline and Ella

After we had finished the race, we all got a badge. Slowly we had to say goodbye. When the bus arrived, we got on. We ate lots of snacks on the journey back, some of us felt sick, some of us fell asleep. We all got home safe and tired.
